Speaking of Chris Dave: Don’t forget that Robert Glasper will release his first “real” album on February 28 on Blue Note Records. Black Radio by the outstanding Robert Glasper Experiment, featuring many well-known artists. Saw these guys live last summer at the Stadtmusik Festival in Basel. Sheer beauty is all that i can say.

A friend called me yesterday afternoon. They had a spare ticket for something great.
Chris Dave and Pino Palladino alone would have made my day. And then there was D’Angelo.
Music at its best.

Damn! How did i miss out on this? Numero Group released a box set dedicated to the south side of Chicago in the late 70s. More precisely: black nightlife and music of that time. Covered up with beautiful photographs by Michael Abramson, like the one above. Crazy wig. And lots and lots of other stuff and information besides the excellent music.
Got to get my hands on one of these soon.
At least the wig reminds me to listen to Madlib’s King Of The Wigflip again.

Tinguely dä Chnächt, Skor and Sterneis are some interesting artists from Zurich. Their project “Temple of Speed” enters the next round with the album “10 Tracks – Vol. 2”. Finest underground hip hop from this collective, this time with EKR.
